I lost 3 friends in high school/community college to car accidents. One of my really good friends Tiffany passed away 4 years ago in February and there is rarely a time that goes by that I don’t think about her. I would give so much to be able to have one more conversation with her to tell her how much she meant to me and how much light she brought to my life. It’s hard and I wish I could give you a hug because even if they’re not your best friend they were still a part of your life and had an impact on you in some way. It’s a sad reminder that we often just think people know we care about them but it takes something like this to truly understand the magnitude our lives have on others.
I’m so sorry you had to go through this and Tom sounds like he was such a great kid, but it also sounds like he was surrounded by many who loved him and if anything that’s a little bit of solace.
